Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Eleven

Today I wake up some what early to get a lot of stuff done.

I go out and have a good look at the bike. Besides the missing catalytic converter and the muffler the only other damage I can see is a dent in the sidecar fender. I have a look at the front end and it looks straight and even but I think a see a small bend on the front brake rotor. I can ride with the brakes as they are so nothing I can do there. (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Ten

So the plan today was to hop on the ferry, trip around Manatoulin Island and then head up to Massey and grab a campground. Well some of that happened.

Got to the ferry late so I had to go in the standby line but luckily I got on.

This is now the third ferry I've been on this trip and it is the largest. I guess because I was on the morning trip the bar was closed. Oh well next time. (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Nine

Today I'm spending the day hiking through the Bruce. The weather was warm but cloudy all day. I started by going along the Marr Lake trail which is a medium to hard trail in my opinion.

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Eight

So another travel day but this one is not that long. Just traveling north from Point Farms Provincial Park to Bruce Peninsula National Park.

Another nice warm day and the skies were cloudy so I was hoping that it would stay that way.

As I was riding through Southhampton I saw on the north west corner a brewery? Turned around in a parking lot and sure enough I had stumbled upon Outlaw Brew Company.  (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Seven

Since I spent a lot of time at the show and shine yesterday so I wanted to check out Goderich a little more today.

But first I had to go to Canadian Tire to get some spray grease as my rear brake pedal was starting to seize. Sprayed it on and the brake pedal was fine. (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Six

Todays big plans were to check out Goderich and visit a co-worker just south of Goderich.

When I drove into town I saw a section of the street blocked off. I asked what was going on and was told there was a show and shine going on. What the hell I said for ten dollars why not.

Paid my money, parked the bike and enjoyed the bikes that came in. I did not win any of the four categories but I did win a door prize of a t-shirt and an ice cream cone! (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Five

One thing I don't like about camping is having to pack up a wet tent. And this is what I did this morning. It poured all night with the occasional lightning and thunder. Fortunately it had stopped when I awoke but I still had to pack up the tent while it was wet.  (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Four

Finally on Pelee Island. Staying at the East Park Campground. Nice little campground. It was quiet but that could also be that the camp was pretty empty. Ya probably because it was empty. Just watch out later in the season as there are a lot of apple trees in the campground so some of the campsites are covered with fallen apples all over the ground.

Drove around the island and checked out the sights. (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Three

Day three is just a nice little travel day. Woke up (on a fully inflated mattress! the new plug works), ate, showered, did dishes and packed up camp. There was a little boy about 9 years old who watched me tear down camp and pack the bike. I asked him if he was going to get an Ural when he gets older and he emphatically said yes then ran off. (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Two

Big plans for day two. Ride out to Kingsville, jump on a ferry, land on Pelee Island, take pictures, get back on ferry and back to campground. Ya like that happened. Woke up late, had a shower then breakfast. Cleaned up the dishes and did a little video of the camp site. I forgot to mention I woke up on the ground again as all the air leaked out of the mattress. (...)
