Running again

Well it has been a very long time with any udpdates and most of that time the site has been down.

With work being busy and life getting in the way I have finally updated the the web site code and up and running again.

Pictures and videos to follow.

Christmas Eve on Santa Street

So after last years horrible winter we finally received a bunch of snow before the holidays so I thought, this would be a great time to visit Santa street.

Let me explain a bit. There is a street in town where a bunch of home owners, maybe around 50, put large inflatable Santa Claus' on their front yard. It has become a little tourist attraction. (...)

Friday the 13th, 2016

O.K. a little bit late but I wasn't sure what I wanted to write about this.

This year, 2016, there is only one Friday the 13th and next year there are two but not in any warm month, January and October.

That being said this will be the only warm month Friday the 13th for two years.

Before I get into this maybe a little background on what Friday the 13th is.

Update - East Coast Trip 2016 - Day 009

Just added a new video to day nine of my East Coast Trip.

A quick little video of Grand Falls, New Brunswick. With all the rain fall the area has had over the past few days, the water was flowing fast.

East Coast Trip 2016 - Epilogue

So my worst fear for the bike is confirmed. It is not something simple like a push rod or a rocker arm but it is a failure of the bearings between the crank and the piston rod.

Small flakes in the oil when the valve covers are removed. (...)

East Coast Trip 2016 - Day 021

Another glorious day. It looks like it is going to be a nice warm sunny day.

Pack up the tent and I start heading out towards Five Islands Provincial Park. It should only take about six to seven hours if all goes well.

I follow the coast line on the route called The Sunshine Trail. One of the small towns I pass through is called Tatamagouche. (...)

East Coast Trip 2016 - Day 020

Today is a nice short travel day.

Wake up and pack up the bike and head out to the ferry at Wood Islands. I missed the first ferry but they leave frequently during the day so I wasn't to worried.

Get on the second ferry and head up stairs for breakfast. The ferry ride is one hour and fifteen minutes long. Up until 1997 when the bridge opened this was the only way to get to Prince Edward Island. The last time I was on this ferry was more than forty years ago. (...)

East Coast Trip 2016 - Day 019

So today I have to get a new tire for the rear of the bike. (...)

East Coast Trip 2016 - Day 018

Today I grab the ferry back to Prince Edward Island.

I woke up early enough to load up the bike and make it to the ferry on time. I usually have a problem with early ferries.

Once I depart the ferry I follow the east coast line to Nothhumberland Provincial Park. I decide to grab a cabin as it was only a few dollars more than a camp site.

Unload the bike and head in to a small town to grab fuel and beer. (...)

East Coast Trip 2016 - Day 017

Today I plan to travel out to Ile D'Entree and do a little touring through the main island.

One thing I really want to try is mounting my gopro on my body so I can do video or a timelapse while I walk around. With this in mine I try out a chest harness for the gopro.

It may look silly compared to mounting it on my head but it will give a more stable straight ahead shot than being on the head were I would be looking all over the place and not very steady. (...)
